Hand cheese (HandKase) is a semi pungent hand crafted German Cheese.

As it often comes in a pack of 4 (available at Say Cheese in the Adelaide Central Markets) you can transform into 2 recipes

Best served alongside some Bretzel Buns, Fresh Radish, & crunchy pretzels as shown in main image. I also served with some Jarlzberg cheese simply to add a bit of variety onto the cheese platter












  • 2 pieces hand cheese (100g  total)
  • 2 tbspn oil
  • 1 tspn hemp seeds
  • 1 tspn apple cider vinegar
  • salt & pepper

Whisk marinade ingredients, pour over whole handcheese/s and refrigerate until required


  • 2 pieces hand cheese (100g)
  • 2 tbspn cheese cheese
  • 2 tbspn unsalted butter
  • salt & pepper

Blend all ingredients well in a food processor and refrigerate until required

Garnish with finely chopped white onion, chives & a touch of paprika
